English:

Design a page for a leavers book. The page needs to fill a side of A4 – it needs to include a photo and will be copied and given to everyone as a memory book of the class. Things you could add – favourite memory, nicknames, best friends, what you want to be when you are older, where you are going to high school, information about yourself – some of your favourite things. Please email me your sheet so I can put them together to print a book out for you all on Friday.

Maths:

In today's lesson, we will begin by consolidating our understanding of percentages before applying this to a range of problems including calculating percentages of amounts and comparison of percentages, including percentage decrease. In this lesson, we will look at how humans have changed over time and use the theory of evolution to explain these changes. Welcome to the last week. hope you all had a good weekend in the glorious weather - there was lots of sport on for me to watch so I was happy! Friday 16th July

We've made it to the end of the week which means one more day and we will be back together in school for our last 4 days. Mason is catching Toby up in the Sumdog competition - would still like to see a few more of you on there in the competition and developing your maths skills.

English:

Today we are looking at the Ancient Greeks and what we know about their culture. I don’t know what resources you will have at home but you could have a go at trying to make one if you have playdough, clay, cardboard? Don’t worry if you haven’t but I would love to see what you come up with and share them on twitter.

Maths:

I am seeing some really good work on fractions so I hoping understanding is developing – I will set a fractions assessment on www.sumdog.com to test what we have been doing - there are 40 questions on the test. Science:

In today's lesson we are going to learn how living organisms are classified. We will learn about the 5 kingdoms and then we will focus on the animal kingdom. Welcome to Wednesday - it was great to see so many of you on teams yesterday - I can also see most of you have made a start on the sumdog competition and had a go on Prodigy - get in touch if you can't remember your password - I know a few couldn't yesterday. Tuesday 13th July

 We are all gutted to be here again - we were hoping we would make it through to the summer but, alas it was not to be. I will be setting tasks on here for each day - they will be timed to come on to the website at about 8pm the night before. We will also be having our teams sessions each morning and afternoon where will be focusing on trying to boost spirits and have some fun. The forecast does seem better for the week which will, hopefully, make it all go a bit quicker. I will put on some English, Maths and Science tasks for each day - there should not be any/many sheets required to be printed with them as most can be completed online and will have video tuition along side. I will also set up a sumdog competition for the week which will have some prizes available for when we get back.

Welcome to Friday – end of week 8 of lockdown. Hope all is going well and we are very much looking forward to seeing you all in class on Monday.

Topic – America – Today we are looking at the Native Americans – have a look and read through the long presentation – there is a lot of information so you might want to do it in 2 parts. At the end I want you to design your own Totem Pole – if you have an empty Kitchen Roll or Toilet Roll you could have a go at actually making one – and then send us a picture of it.

PE – come to the afternoon teams session in your PE kit and we will do some activities and competitions again – please have a think of a film or dance related exercise we could do.

World Book Day Thursday 4th March

Hello everybody,

today I will be reading the first few chapters of a book called Room 13. It’s a prize winning book written by Robert Swindells and is about a group of friends who go on a school trip . We will be studying this book when you come back to school, so I though we could talk start it today and draw a mind map. I’ll explain more during the meeting at 9:30.

The winner of the Extreme Reading competition will be announced during this afternoon’s meeting, so make sure you have sent your entry in!

It is World Book Day this week – we will have a fancy dress day on Friday. A couple of competitions and tasks for the week. One is a class competition and the other is a national competition. The first is a design a book character using a toilet roll inner – an example is shown below (on Monday) – so pick a character and do a design for us.

The second competition is being run by the author Gareth P Jones. The task is to design a dragon – please see the sheet attached for further details. I suggest doing an outline of a dragon on a sheet of A4 and then writing a description of the dragon inside the body. Hopefully we are now getting towards the end of the last lockdown – we certainly hope so. Here are today’s lessons:

Maths – Today we are looking at some mental calculation problems – read the questions carefully and work out what it is asking you to do. Remember to complete 2 sections either A and B or B and C depending on how confident you feel. Estimate today is – if I measure around the perimeter of the classroom what do you think it will be in metres?

Topic – We are carrying on with our American Topic and today we are finding out about the Mississippi river. Have a read through the powerpoint and then using an online map and the map attached complete the sheet attached at the bottom labelling the major cities and stated along the river.

Music – We will continue with the Oak Academy to teach us some music sessions on rhythm – lesson number 4 is about how to compose a syncopated rhythm :

RE-6.4 Who was/is Jesus?

Explore the Text

Use Google or a bible if you have one at home, and find the following texts. Isaiah 9: 6-7 and Philippians 2: 6-11.  Use these passages of scripture to answer the question, ‘Who was Jesus?’ Use examples from the text, and explain why you chose that particular piece in relation to our question. Feel free to record this session however you like, you can write your answers, put them in a Power Point, or make a poster.

Thursday 25^th  February

Hello everyone, today I would like you to read the two myths and answer the questions. Think carefully before writing your answers, making sure you have read the text properly. Then, I would like you to draw or paint Medusa and collect some adjectives which describe her appearance, character and behaviour and write them around her picture. (I will show you an example in the meeting at 9.30).

Lastly, I would like you to complete the activities based on using commas to keep your skills sharp. I will explain this during the meeting too.

Guided Read

This week I want you to try to finish reading the book you have chosen. Next week, we will complete a book review. Happy reading!

PE-Dance

Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at different kinds of dance. This week I want you to think about interpretive dance. So if I give you a title, I want you to come up with your interpretation of that word, but through dance. So, my word is LOCKDOWN. You may have very positive  experiences of lockdown, some negative, some happy, some when you are feeling a little flat. Think about a piece of music you could put your movements to, that would reflect what you think about lockdown. A strong beat might represent positivity, keeping going, or it might represent anger. You decide. Remember dance is about moving your body to music-whatever you come up with will be right for you. I look forward to seeing what you will create.

To begin with-think about the following questions and record your answers. We will look at these questions again at the end of the topic and see if any of our answers have changed. If so, why? What may influence our answers?

Two sides to every story.

Think about the following questions.

• What do we mean by a fact?
• What do we mean by an opinion?
• Do news reports contain facts or opinions?
• What do we mean by a biased report?
• What do we mean by an unbiased report?

Look at the activity sheet- Two sides to every story? 

Both news reports are covering the same story. They both use the same facts but have their own bias, that is, they express a particular opinion. Read both reports and to pick out the facts which are the same in both reports. You can do this by making a list of the facts. Alternatively, You could use a highlighter pen to highlight the facts that appear in both reports.

Once completed, look at the rest of the report.

• What words or phrases has the writer used to express their opinion?
• How have they used the facts to back up their point of view?
• Are both reports biased but in different ways?

Hello everybody, I know the half term went quickly, but I hope you had chance to relax and have some fun.

 We will start this term by focusing on reading.  We will do a mixture of writing, artwork  and answering questions to check our comprehension (understanding) of what we have read.

Hello everyone,

Today I would like you to concentrate on producing a really great piece of writing.. I’d like you to write a newspaper account of the Titanic disaster. You can use the templates I sent on Tuesday and handwrite it, or create a Word document and type it.

Your newspaper must include : a headline, masthead (name of newspaper) photos, captions, quotes, sub-headings, opening paragraph, main body and summary paragraph. When your report is finished, you MUST check it through to make sure it answers the 5 W questions (who, where, when, what, why).

*You have until Tuesday 23rd February to send me a final draft which you have checked for errors.

Maths – Today we are looking at Bodmas – which is the order we do sums in – remember that when you do 2+3x5 you must do the x first so really it is 3x5=15+2=17 . So this week I want you to create a PowerPoint or fact file about all the things you know about Eucharist. You can use google, but PLEASE do not copy and paste,. Try to find some child friendly websites that will make it easier for you to understand what you are reading.

PSHE-What sort of drug is...?

Think about the questions below.

• What do we mean by the word drug? 
• Are medicines drugs?
• Can medicines ever be harmful? How? 
• Are drugs always used for medical reasons? Why else might someone use a drug?
• What do we mean by the terms ‘legal’ and ‘illegal’?
• What drugs have you heard of? 
• Is it possible to divide these drugs into different categories? If so what categories would we use?

The following activity is designed to show  that most drugs do not fall neatly into one category or another but that this will depend on the context of how they’re being used.

• Red circle – contains drugs which have a medical use
• Blue circle – contains drugs which have a non-medical use and are legal
• Green circle – contains drugs which have a non-medical use and are illegal

The overlapping areas are where a drug can fall into two or more categories, depending on circumstance. For example-alcohol, because it can actually appear in all three categories:

• What sort of drug is alcohol? It is a legal non-medical drug so can go in that section.
• Is it ever illegal to sell alcohol to people in this country? Yes, to under 18s – so it can go in the legal and illegal non-medical overlapping section.
• Does alcohol ever have a medical use? Yes, pure alcohol is an antiseptic and can be used to clean wounds. It’s also used in products such as mouthwash and antiseptic hand wash, and as an ingredient in some medicines (often to help the other ingredients dissolve). So it can go in the central section where all three circles overlap.

Use the sheet to put the names of the drugs you have thought of into the three categories.

Hi everyone, today we will look at a real newspaper and work out how it has been written using the 5 W’s. Please read it through – it’s about a boy who got lost.

We will then look at how the Titanic disaster happened and write a newspaper report about it. I have sent all the information you will need along with 2 clips of the disaster so that you can see it from the passengers’ perspectives.

Hello everyone, today we will start to look at what the Titanic was - how it was made, who travelled on it and why it will be remembered etc..  I’ve sent a clip for you to watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_1EihgfTYY  .  If you have time to look at other Titanic clips too, then that will be useful.  Try to write 5 facts about the Titanic and bring them to this afternoon’s meeting.

Art is good for the soul, so let’s do some art!  I’ve sent some examples of artwork based on the Titanic.  Can you produce a piece of artwork of the ship?  It could be a drawing, painting, model or collage – try to use different materials than you usually do just to challenge yourself.  If you have it finished for the meeting then I’d love to see it, even if it isn’t quite finished.

I always find it easiest to find 10% first by dividing by 10 and then working from there so 30% of 200 would be – find 10% which is 20 and x 3 to make 3 lots of 10% which is 30% - 3 x 20 = 60. Mrs Spencer-Peck - Good morning,

We will be studying newspapers over the next few weeks, eventually writing our own about the titanic disaster. I have sent some newspaper articles for you find out about the 5W’s – which is how a newspaper is structured. I’ll talk more about this in the meeting, so you might want to leave that until I’ve explained it.

Continuing with our topic of The British Empire, I would like you to read Lesson 5 – slavery, and then do the questions. This topic is uncomfortable to read about, but is, unfortunately, part of history which we need to be aware of.

Also, there is a clip for you to watch about the Titanic. If you wanted to do a little extra research about this, then that would be useful for when we write our newspaper report. There are plenty of clips on YouTube.

PE-Dance

I have really enjoyed seeing all the dances you have sent-loved how brave you were to post them on Twitter too! This week I want you try some meditation. Go to a place that you can be quiet, make it nice and dark, and listen to some soothing music. Don't choose music that has a strong beat-pick something like the music we listen to in class when we meditate. 

Lie back, and while you listen, concentrate on your breathing, in through the nose, out through the mouth. Imagine the birthday candle in your head, you are not blowing it out, just making the flame dance.

While you steadily breathe, concentrate on imagining a boat tied to the pier, and fill it with your worries and any negative thoughts you might have. Then when you have filled your boat, let the rope untie and the boat gently drift away, taking your worries with it.

As you breathe, gently stretch out each part of your body, flexing the muscles, gently rolling your head from side to side....and remember...breathe in through the nose...out through the mouth...all is well.

What do we mean by a habit? [e.g. an action that a person keeps repeating].

What sort of habits do people have? [e.g. biting their nails, drumming their fingers on the table].

Is a habit necessarily a harmful thing? [Not necessarily].

Are general day to day routines a habit? [e.g. cleaning teeth, having the same thing for breakfast every day. In some ways these are a habit - we train ourselves to develop habits/actions that we perform regularly].

What do we mean by addiction?  [There is no common definition of addiction so it will be useful to find out what you understand by this term].

Is addiction the same thing as a habit? [An addiction can be seen as an extreme form of habit. We tend to think of an addiction being a more negative thing].

When we say someone is addicted to something what do we mean? For example, it could mean that a person develops an extreme habit which they feel compelled to keep doing. They may crave doing this and possibly suffer from withdrawal symptoms when they try to stop the habit.

Think about any habits you may have, biting your nails, drinking too much fizzy pop, not brushing your teeth properly. How do you think you could break the habit? What do you think you would need to do? Who could help you?

Hope you have had a good weekend, one more week down of lockdown so we are getting closer to getting back to class (even if we don’t quite know when yet). I am still self-isolating this week so will be available on teams and email if you have any questions about the work.

I have set it so you will be asked a range of questions at the level you are working. What I would like you to do is answer 200 questions each day – street racer is a pretty good game for answering them quickly. Estimate today is – how much do you think my lap top weighs in grams?

Topic – One of the suggestions made for a topic by quite a few of you was dinosaurs so I have put together some work to find out more about these ancient creatures that once roamed our earth. First you may like to watch this programme by Steve Backshall that is about dinosaurs. This was part of a series on the BBC but only the last 3 episodes are left to watch on i-player. What I would like you to do is answer 200 questions each day – street racer is a pretty good game for answering them quickly. Estimate today is – how many seats do you think there are in my house – so I am counting up sofa seats and chairs etc.

Topic – We will bring out WW2 topic to a close so what I want you to do today is find out how the war ended. It actually ended twice for Britain which is why we have VE day and VJ day – so what I want you to find out about, and put together a presentation on, is how the war ended. Think about what events brought it to a close, who surrendered etc.

Good morning everyone, I will be talking about how to write a biography in this morning’s meeting and sharing some examples, so you may want to wait before starting this…

I would like you to use the facts you have collected about your famous person to write a biography. I have sent a sheet with some time connectives, but of course you may use your own. The biography MUST have an orientation and reorientation and must be your own work. You can present it with photos and either handwrite it or type it. Think carefully about how to make a beautiful piece of work as this piece will be included in your Big Write collection.

Please read the information about colonies in the British Empire (Lesson 2+3) and then answer the questions. Be prepared to talk about your answers in Tuesday’s meeting.

Thursday Guided Read

So by now you will have all completed the book review of your school guided read book. This week I want you to choose our next book, and read the first 4 chapters. No task for now, just enjoy reading. 

PE-Dance

So your PE session this week, is to do 'The Carlton'! This bit is compulsory, you need to do the dance as part of the PE curriculum, however the next bit is NOT compulsory. To enter the' Carlton Dance Off' is entirely your choice-this is just a bit of fun. Get an adult to record you doing your favourite bit of The Carlton and post it on Twitter. If there are more than half of you that enter, I will post my own version, and I'll convince Mrs SP to take part too!! 

We will ask someone like Mr. Southern to judge the winner, and the prize is a HUUUGE bar of Dairy Milk!!

Remember the Twitter bit is NOT compulsory!! It's just meant to be a bit of fun!

Wednesday 20^th January

Hi –hope the week is going well for you all, we keep watching the news hoping it will not be too long until we are all able to be back in class together again.

Maths – today we are looking at proportion – this is quite similar to equivalent fractions but instead of saying 1/3 you say 1 in every 3. Easiest example is in a class there are 10 girls and 20 boys so 10 in 30 are girls and 20 in 30 are boys – or simplified it would 1 in every 3 are girls and 2 in every 3 are boys. Traffic Lights

Some of these questions might seem really obvious, but you'd be surprised how often we can be tricked into giving away important information.

Think about these questions.

Questions

• Would you tell a stranger your name and address?
• Would you let someone you didn’t know hold your school bag for you while you did something else?
• Would you tell a stranger on the phone that your parents were not home?
• Would you share your online passwords with a stranger? With a friend?

STOP (red light): when faced with a situation where we are being asked for personal information

THINK (orange light) is it ok to share this information? What information is being asked? Who is asking for it? Have I checked with an adult?

GO (green light): I have checked with an adult, I know what information is safe to share.

STOP – before sharing:

• your full name
• photos of yourself that may identify where you are, or name of school
• full address
• name of your school or place of work
• full date of birth
• card numbers (credit, debit etc.)
• phone numbers
• and before accepting friend requests on social networks from people you have never met.

THINK – before sharing:

• email addresses (especially if they contain the name of your school or workplace, or your full name)
• age
• names of places you frequently visit or sporting teams you are in
• your post code
• information in online quizzes or surveys as these could be gathering private information that may be used in identity theft.

Hi – happy Tuesday. Tasks for today:

When did it start?

When did it end?

What different rules did they have to follow?

What difference did it make to their lives? etc.

I want you to write a letter to a friend on the mainland telling them about life on the island under occupation.

Maths – today we are looking at dividing decimals following on from our work from Friday in multiplying them. Friday 15^th January

We’ve made it to the end of week 2 and hopefully you are still working hard and enjoying the tasks. 3 activities for today to help us learn.

English – we will finish off our book – The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali Rauf – what I would like you to do is write a review of the book in the style of an Amazon review – would you recommend it, what is the plot, who should read it etc. Remember do not give away the whole story. Also I would like you to write a short message to Onjali Rauf (the author) and take a picture of yourself holding up the message (just a sentence or 2) decorate with some images from the book – I will tweet them to Onjali who sometimes does reply to messages on twitter.

Maths – today we are looking at multiplying decimals – again I have set up a challenge on sumdog to show me your understanding so please complete it at the end www.sumdog.com . I have attached the sheet (at the bottom of this text) which has 3 sections for you – complete 2 depending on how confident you feel on this area. I will be asking to listen to some speeches later on at the afternoon session.

Hi – happy Wednesday!

Some English, Topic and Maths this morning and then some work from Mrs T in the afternoon.

1. Topic – we will be doing some more work on our project based on World War 2. You will need to research some questions each day and write responses to them in an extended piece of writing:

What was the blitz and what impact did it have on Manchester and the local area.

Some British islands were occupied by the Nazis in the war - what can you find out about this?

Early in the war we had to rescue our troops from Dunkirk - lots of ordinary people helped out - find some stories about this.

ID: Bolton2021 – we have had problems getting this working previously at home so let me know if there are issues outside of the school network.

2. English – In English we will continue with reading our story which will end...“Because it was…..” – who was at the door in our story The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali Rauf, and what do you think happened next? Continue the story - we will be asking some of you to read out later.

3. Maths – Today we are finding fractions of amounts. This is really easy as long as you remember to divide by the bottom (denominator) and times by the top (numerator) so ¾ of 12 means 12 ÷ 4 = 3 and then x by the top so 3 x 3 = 9 so our answer would be 9. Think before you click!

How quickly can information be spread on the internet? Do we think we are safe if we send a picture or text then delete it?

Think about if one person gets the text, then sends it to 8 more people, then those 8 people send it to 8 more people......Wow!! That's a lot of people who will have received the information with literally a couple of clicks of a button!

Think about this story:

Billy and Joe were good friends. They’d known each other for years, since Nursery, and although they were in different classes at Secondary school, they still met up on the school bus and usually had a good time. One morning Joe was waiting for the bus when a car pulled up.  Billy got out of the car - his Grandma had come to stay and had given him a lift to the bus stop. As Billy got out of the car, his Grandma shouted, ‘Love you Billy-Bear’.  Joe burst out laughing, and as soon as the car had driven off he repeated, ‘Love you Billy-Bear.’ Billy looked a bit embarrassed but he laughed along with his friend and explained that his Grandma had called him that since he was a baby and agreed that it was embarrassing now that he was older.

The bus arrived and as they got on, the boys carried on chatting, agreeing that families could be a pain! They sat in their usual seats and, as usual, the windows were steamed up. As they set off, Joe wrote ‘Love you Billy-Bear’ and drew a big heart on the window in the steam, he said it in a silly voice as he wrote it. One of the older bus on the bus overheard and leant over to see what was going on, “Who do you love?” the older boy asked, obviously keen for a bit of gossip. “It’s nothing.”, said Billy as Joe rubbed the writing off the window. Disappointed that there was nothing of interest, the older boy turned back to his seat and the journey carried on as normal.

After school, Billy and Joe stood in the bus queue. They were near the back because they’d both had P.E. As they got onto the bus they could hear laughing and kissing noises. As they walked towards their usual seats it became apparent what the fuss was about. As the windows had steamed up again, the writing and heart that Joe had done earlier had re-appeared. All around them were voices calling ‘Love you Billy-Bear’. Billy gave Joe a look that said everything. Joe looked horrified and sat with his head in his hands as they both tried to ignore the taunting. It didn’t last that long, although it felt like hours. The other kids on the bus soon settled back down to looking at their phones and the usual chat. Joe tried to wipe away the writing and hoped that the bus windows were due for a clean otherwise the evidence would reappear like a ghostly reminder of his foolish act. They sat in silence all the way home and as they got off the bus, Billy walked off without saying goodbye.

• How do you think Billy was feeling? 
• How do you think Joe was feeling? 
• What do you think about Joe’s actions? Did he mean to upset his friend?

It was a silly act that got out of hand. Joe didn’t mean to tell everyone on the bus, he’d wiped it off when the older boy was being nosy in the morning. Unfortunately because of the steamy windows, it was hard to erase what he’d done.

• How does this compare to posting something on the internet?

Things can be shared very quickly, to people all over the world, way beyond the original friendship group. Also, even if the first person deletes the post, once other people have shared it, it is very difficult to erase it.

• Is it possible to take back something that’s posted on the internet?

No, it isn’t. Not for certain. Even is a posting is removed, someone might have taken a screen-shot of it, which could then be re-posted, outside the control of the person who originally posted it.

Reflection

We should always think carefully about what we post online. 

We should think about our safety and we should never share anything that might hurt or embarrass someone. It’s almost impossible to remove something once it is online and something that might seem funny in a moment might not seem like such a good idea later on.

Some Topic, Art and Maths this morning and then some work from Mrs Spencer-Peck in the afternoon.

1. Topic – continuing our World War 2 topic today I would like you to find out more about some of the aeroplanes used during the second war 2 – here are some for you: Spitfire, Lancaster, Messerschmitt, Komet – you can also try and find some of your own. What I want you to do is produce some top trumps cards with details about the planes – you will need to research the planes to find out some information. Hello, I hope you have looked at the clip I sent you last Tuesday which briefly introduced the British Empire.

My aim (by the end of the topic) is for you to understand what an empire is and to understand how Britain developed its empire. We will also look at how the British Empire is no longer as powerful as it once was.

Read the British Empire powerpoint below – don’t worry if you don’t understand everything, we will be looking at it in other sessions too.

Now have a go at colouring the map showing where the British Empire once ruled. You will need a map for this, but bear in mind that some countries may have changed their names (although they are obviously still in the same place). Keep your work somewhere safe for your return to school. The work you need to download is called ‘The Victorian Lapbook,’ but if you can’t print it, simply make a list of the countries which used to be part of the British Empire in 1800.

Monday 11^th January.

Hi – hope you have enjoyed your weekend and the football results were kind!

We will again be meeting at 9.30 and 2.30 each day this week. I know Teams can be a bit temperamental at times – if it kicks you off don’t worry – the work is available here on the website anyway and we will record the sessions (as long we remember to press record) so you can catch up with them after. Sometimes it might not work our end – if that happens I will try and add some messages on Teams or to the website. I will continue to add tasks on to Sumdog this week (next week we will use Prodigy) so make sure that you complete those – I am keeping a record in my book to see who does them each day and to record your score which will help me to gauge levels ready for Secondary School transition so it is important you do complete the tasks.

Friday 8^th January.

Hi – it was great to see many of you and catch up a bit yesterday on teams – we will carry on with our morning meet up and then afternoon check ups – we will do I best to remember to record them as well so if you miss it you can catch up later with the session. From my own experience – well my lads who use it for college, teams can sometimes go wrong – if that happened don’t worry – the work will be on the website and we will just go again at the next meeting.

Session 1 – topic proposal - I am planning some project work for us next week looking at World War 2 – please have a think as part of your work today about any topics you would be interested in finding out more about – either History or Geography based and I may pick some for future weeks. Please send me 2 or 3 ideas of things you would like to find out about and what you would like to learn. For example on World War 2 I might get us to research – how did it start? Who was involved? What sort of weapons did they use? What was life like for people locally? How did it end? What was life like for a prisoner of war? What did they eat? I’ve heard a bit about evacuation – what does that mean? Etc etc. I am hoping we will get some really exciting and interesting topic ideas.

Reading and writing

Good morning everyone.  For our new writing focus, we are going to be writing biographies.  A biography is a recount of someone’s life.  Sometimes the person is still alive, sometimes not.

To begin with, I would like you to read the biography about the author JK Rowling.

Next, can you highlight (or write down) all the time conjunctions? These words show that time has passed.  Some examples would be, ‘during,’  ‘many years later,’  ‘since.’                          

Now answer the questions.

Look at the sheet entitled , ‘Writing a word as a noun and a verb.’  

Example  -   ‘point’

I asked him to point at the dog.   (in this case, the word ‘point’ is an action and therefore a verb)

I sharpened the point on my pencil.  (in this case the point is a thing and therefore a noun)

Follow the instructions on the sheet.  You might want to write ‘verb’ or ‘noun’ next to each sentence when you have done it.

Wednesday 6^th January.

Hi – hope yesterday went ok. It was good to see most of you complete the challenge on sumdog. I will be sending out (or may have already by the time you read this) emails with the teams details on – our first session will be tomorrow at 9.30 (Thursday) – hopefully it will work well and we will get to see you all. Tuesday 5^th January.

I hope you have all managed to have a relaxed and fun Christmas and New Year. We are extremely disappointed to be back here again having to work online and to only discover this at 8pm last night. For the next couple of days I will add tasks on here to complete for the day, we will be in school sorting out Microsoft teams and activities going forward – our plan is to have this up and running for Thursday. I will be contacting you all with the log in details for the teams sessions. We will still be using this website for the tasks but plan to be using teams for a couple of sessions a day to go through work and check how we are all doing.
